Welcome to the Religious Education homepage! Here is some general information about our program:
- All families registering children in our program must be parishioners of Sacred Heart, and all new registrations must be accompanied by a copy of the baptismal certificate, and any additional sacramental records/prior Religious Education records if applicable (i.e., if the student is new to our program and beyond 1st grade).
- We offer a traditional Fall Program which meets Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5:30-6:45, and encompasses grades 1st through 8th. Families may request the preferred day, and we try our best to accomodate the first choice in scheduling request. The Fall Program runs from September through April.
- We also offer an intensive Summer Program which typically runs during the last two weeks of July from 8 am - 11 am, and these classes also meet one Monday per month during the school year. Children must be on grade level to register, and except for children entering 1st grade, must have attended the Fall Program for one year with a good attendance record. (As the Summer Program usually has a wait list for some grades, we suggest you get in touch as soon as possible if you are interested in the Summer Program.)
- Our program uses the textbook series 'Alive in Christ,' published by Our Sunday Visitor. We also use the RCL Benziger 'Family Life' program as mandated by Bishop O'Connell.
For specific information about each program and about our sacramental celebrations, please see the links on the left side of the screen.
If you have any questions, please contact our office. Thank you and God bless you!
