All families registering children in our program must be parishioners of Sacred Heart.
All new registrations must be accompanied by a copy of the baptismal certificate, and any additional sacramental records/prior Religious Education records if applicable (i.e., if the student is new to our program and beyond 1st grade).
Traditional Fall Program: As of now, we plan to hold all of our classes in person and classes will meet on Tuesdays each week from 5:30-6:45pm. Classes will begin on October 4th and will continue EVERY Tuesday through May 2nd.
Summer Program: We also offer an intensive summer program which this year runs from July 18 through July 29 and then once a month on a Monday during the school year. As of now, we plan to hold classes in person and classes would meet from 8-11 am. **Please note that at this time, we can only accomodate new students for 1st-3rd grade for this program, as all other grade levels are over capacity. We are seeking additional volunteers to become catechists, aides, and hall monitors, so please contact our office if you are interested in joining our team.
Family Program: For 2022-2023, we will continue to offer our Family Program for those with concerns about Covid or those with extenuating circumstances. The option is home-based and will involve the family in the child's faith formation. Families will need to contact the Religious Education Office and be approved in order to register for this option. This program runs from September through May.
Our program uses the textbook series 'Alive in Christ,' published by Our Sunday Visitor. We also use the RCL Benziger 'Family Life' program as mandated by Bishop O'Connell.
For adults and teenagers who wish to become Catholic or continue their Religious Education to culminate in receiving Sacraments, we offer an RCIA program. Please click the RCIA link on this page for more information!
Please note that we may need to implement changes in our programs as the pandemic continues to alter protocols and change mandates. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate the ever changing updates.
For specific information about each program and about our sacramental celebrations, please see the links on the left side of the screen.
If you have any questions, please contact our office. Thank you and God bless you!
